A Sanctuary for Frida Kahlo

This project is an experiment in using narrative as architectural motivation. With Frida Kahlo as the primary actor, the sanctuary was brought to form by the idea that moments of friction have a generative capacity. Designed as both a space of resipite and a political safe haven, the building was conceived as a foil to Kahlo herself. The project builds a world that can be seen through a series of interior images that change throughout the course of a day.
